Ascott-under-Wychwood is an ideal place from which to explore the many treasures
and attractions of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and also those further afield.
We are located near Blenheim Palace, the magnificent birthplace of Sir Winston
Churchill and home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough. It is only a 20 minute drive!
Kelmscott Manor, country home of William Morris, leader of the Arts & Crafts
Movement, Rousham House with its wonderful William Kent designed garden, National
Trust estates such as Chastleton House, Hidcote Manor Gardens, Upton House and
Snowshill Manor are within easy reach.The Oxfordshire Cotswolds are blessed with some of the most picturesque towns and villages in England, each with it own unique past that has helped to influence and develop the traditional character of the local area. We are near the delightful market towns of Burford, Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water which make for pleasant browsing and shopping. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens are a great family day out. Why not visit a brewery and see how our local real ales are made. The Wychwood Brewery and Hook Norton Brewery are both open to the public for tours. We are near the beautiful city of Oxford which is easily reached by car or train. Take a walking tour of this fascinating city to find its' hidden treasures or why not hire a punt for an afternoon from Magdalen Bridge (01865 202643)! Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle are less than an hour's drive from Meadowbank House. Meadowbank House is your ideal base to explore the Cotswolds
and beyond!
